Gatehouses to St

Islington Cemetery

GV II
Gatehouses flanking the north entrance to the cemetery, c.1853. Ragstone with ashlar window
surrounds and quoins; slate roofs with copings, and tall stacks. Two L-shaped blocks of two
storeys with gable attics, facing each other in a mirror image. Sash windows. Flat roofed
extensions to rear not of special interest. Included as part of historic group with the cemetery
chapel (q.v.)
