Inn, C17, altered and extended to rear. Oak small framing to front
with recessed plaster panels; red sandstone coursed rubble to left end
and brick to right end and rear; coursed red sandstone plinth to
front; steep grey slate roofs. Of 2 storeys and 2 windows (including
left cross-wing), plus 1-cell right wing of 1 storey and attic. Door
of 6 oak boards; replaced leaded casements. Massive projecting
lateral chimney of red sandstone on cross-wing with ornate C19 brick
stack of Carden Estate type. Ornate brick chimneys on right and rear
gables of main wing; plain brick gable chimney on right wing. Plain
bargeboards and 5-pointed wood finials of Carden Estate pattern.
Single-storey late C20 extension at rear. The oak frame is heavily
restored.
Interior: much altered, with oak timbers reused.
