SY 49 NW STOKE ABBOTT BLACKNEY

6/265 Blackney Farmhouse

II

Detached Farmhouse. c.C17 core, with C19 refenestration and later
alterations. Dressed stone walls. Plain tile roof, hipped at left
hand and gabled at right hand. Stacks: at left hand, in from apex,
at right hand, in from gable, on rear wing at side wall eaves.
2 storeys, with one C20 dormer. South-west elevation: 3 windows,
3-light wooden casements, no glazing-bars. Concrete lintels. C20.
Windows on north-west elevation, 2- and 3-light cast-iron casements
with glazing-bars. Segmental brick heads to ground floor, C19. Front
door; (S.W) at centre: recess panels with 2 glass lights. Square
brick porch with hipped fish-scale tile roof. Early C19. 2-leaf
plank door to porch. Interior: deep-chamfered ceiling-beam in right
hand room.
