Farmhouse. Datestone 1661 TH. Cl8 alterations. Squared coursed ironstone and
coursed ironstone rubble. Slate roof. Stone-coped gables. 2 stone/brick ridge
stacks and a stops end stack, all on chamfered stone bases. 3-unit plan. 3
storeys, 3-window range. Entrance off-centre to right has cambered stone head
and moulded chamfered jambs. Hood mould with diamond hoped label stops.
6-panelled door, 3-light metal casement to left has wood lintel. First floor has
three 3-light metal or wood casements in wood frames with wood lintels. Attic
floor has three light C18 metal casements in wood frames with wood lintels.
Lead cames, wrought-iron casement fasteners and springs. Stone quoins. Datestone
1661; TH is ascribed to Thomas Hicks (VCH) wwho paid tax on 3 hearths in 1665.
Interior noted as having a C18 corner cupboard with a dentilled moulded cornice
in the south-east ground floor room and another similar cupboard in the wall
fronting the road. Interior not inspected.
