GV II

School master's house and school room, now house. c.1627 with single-unit
addition of 1711 (date on chimney stack). Squared coursed ironstone. Steeply
pitched thatched roof. Stone ridge and end stacks with brick shafts, 2 units
extended to 3 units. Single storey plus atttic. 3-window attic range. Entrance
off-centre to left has C20 door, wand frame and wood lintel, 3-light casement to
left with wood lintel. Two 3-light wood casements to right have wrought-iron
casement fasteners and wood lintels. Attic has 2- and 3.-light eyebrow dormers
with metal casements in wood frames. Wood lintels and wrought-iron casement
fasteners. Interior: stop-chamfered beam. Blocked fireplace with C19 overmantle,
Some stone flags. Window boxes. C18 straight flight staircase. Butt-purlin roof.
Stud partition in attic. Plank door. The C19 school room abutting on the right
is not of special architectural interest.
