8/12 Lock Cottage at Bourton Lock

GV II

Lock Cottage. Mid C19. Red brick. Slate roof. Brick end stacks. 2-unit plan, 2
storeys, 3-window range. Entrance to right has plank door, wood lintel and
gabled hood. Entrance is flanked by single light windows with shutters. First
floor has three 2-light casements with small panes. Brick flat arches. Brick
flat band to first floor. Brick dentilled eaves cornice. The stretch of Oxford
Canal from Coventry to Banbury was completed by 1778.
