GV II
Farmhouse. C15. Timber framed, mostly plastered, with a thatched roof. 1½
storeys. 3-cell form with former open hall. Various casement windows. One
old plank door and to extreme right a mid C20 door. One small dormer.
Internal stack with small common brick shaft. Interior partly unmodernised,
with much of the structure concealed. Upper end of hall has 2-centre arched
doorway into parlour. Service partition at ground floor removed. Solid-tread
stair at service end. Blocked diamond-mullioned window in front wall of
service chamber. Intact open truss over hall has arch-braced cambered tie
beam and tall octagonal crown-post with moulded cap and base and 4-way
bracing. Sooted medieval rafters mostly intact.
