Pair of cottages, probably late C18/early C19 but possibly a rebuilding of an
earlier dwelling. Rubble ground floor with brick above. Colourwashed. Gable-
ended thatched roof with brick stacks to ends of cottages. 2 storeys, 6 window
range. 3-light casements under wooden lintels. Those to the upper floor of the
left hand cottage have leaded lights, the others have horizontal glazing bars.
Part glazed plank doors, that to the left hand cottage having a gabled hood and
that to the right hand cottage having a flat hood. Internal features (RCHM): north
cottage has a stop-chamfered beam. RCHM, Dorset, vol. III, p 108, no 16
