GV II

Cottage formerly two cottages. Early C17 with C19 and C20 alterations.
Timber-framed with reversed assembly, rendered. Brick plinth. Half hipped
thatched roof, red brick ridge stack. One storey and attic, three unit plan.
Boarded door in lobby entry position with small bay window to left hand and
three other C20 casement windows. Two sloping roofed casement dormer windows.
Interior: recently restored, the wall below the wall plate has been replaced
and three storey posts, possibly late C16, resited. The roof timbers marked
with short incised carpenters marks are possibly C19 and date with the
insertion of the floor frames and brick fronting to the chimney stack. The
stack is C17. One C19 boxed staircase, some C18 and C19 doors; C19 pine
chimney surround. Relaid C19 floor tiles.
