House, C18 re-fronted early C19.

EXTERIOR: Two storeys, colourwashed plaster. Ground floor lhas early C19 features; from left to right, 12-pane sash window with flush panelled shutters; pedimented doorcase with panelled pilasters; similar window with similar shutters; double fronted shop front with two canted bays on plastered bases with glazed central door, frieze and cornice over set back slightly to centre. Four mid C19 sash windows to first floor. Slate roof.

INTERIOR: Not inspected.

REASONS FOR DESIGNATION: No. 24a High Street, Ewell is listed at Grade II for the following principal reasons:
* Architectural: an C18 house refronted in the early C19 with an interesting façade reflecting both its domestic and commercial use in the past;
* Group value: with buildings, ranging from C16 to early C19 date, in the historic centre of the town.
