Description


PREES C.P. DARLISTON SJ 53 SE 7/67 Hazelwood Farmhouse - GV II Farmhouse. Dated 1655, remodelled mid-C18 with later additions and alterations. Roughcast concealing brick to front and timber frame to rear; plain tile roof with X-shaped patterns to front. T-plan with earlier range to rear. 2 storeys and gable-lit attic with floor band and dentilled eaves cornice to front; 3 windows, mid-C19 wooden mullioned and transomed casements in painted stone surrounds. Ridge stack to right of centre and large integral end stack in 2 sections to right. Range to rear is jettied on first floor to front and there is evidence for jetty to both first floor and attic to gable, which has projecting double-purlin ends and internal end stack. Wooden board fixed to overhang to front has 2 carved dragons, date "1655" and initials "TC" within shield. Entrance through lean-to porch in angle between ranges. Interior: not inspected but likely to be of interest.
