Church of St Ida

GV II

Churchyard monument. Circa 1860s or 1870s, possibly contemporary with the restoration
of the Church of St Ida (qv) in 1870-71 by J.P. St Aubyn. Granite.
Monument stands on a rusticated granite square plinth. Comprises a moulded column on
a tall moulded base which is stepped and decorated by scrolled stops at the corners.
The column is surmounted by a flower-like motif; the shaft forming the stem to a
trefoil flower which is pierced by 3 cusped trefoils and has short curling leaves at
its base.
