London House

GV II

Attached Post Office/Store and house, of one build, c.1800. Ashlar
stone walls. Slate and stone slab roofs, and stone gable-coping at
right hand. Brick stacks at left hand ridge and right hand gable. 2
storeys, with C20 dormers to London House. 4 windows, sashes with
glazing-bars irregularly spaced, four panes wide to ground, five panes
wide to first floor. Shop-front at left hand ground, C19, to Post
Office. Canted shop windows with mullions, either side of central door.
Reeded wood surround. Rounded shop fascia-board with small bolt
cornice. Front door to London House at centre right, 6 flush and recess
panels, C19. Flat canopy carried on wooden brackets. Side range of
Post Office up Back Lane, stone walls painted. 2 storeys. 3-windows,
C20 metal casements.
