GV II
Warehouse. c1800, converted to flats 1994. Apparently built as part of the rear extension of No.5 Great John Street (qv). Coursed sandstone rubble with stone slate roof. Deep rectangular plan. 4 storeys above cellars, with a central loading slot under a projecting gable and flanked by windows on the first and second floors. On the ground floor there is a window to the left and, to the right, a doorway up a flight of 5 steps which leads to an internal staircase. On the top floor there is a window on the left and a round arch to the loading slot, which is wider to accommodate a crane which is now missing. All the openings have plain surrounds, and the joinery is of the later C20.
