Terrace. Laid out c.1828. S P Cockerell for Bishop of London's Trustees. Brown
brick in Flemish bond, channelled stucco ground floor. Stucco 3rd floor sill
band and coping to parapet. Added Welsh slate mansard roofs to Nos 35 and 36
otherwise roof concealed. 4 storeys and basement, 6-bay centre projects slightly
and is flanked by 12-bay wings, the end houses also project slightly.
Round-arched recesses contain panelled doors under fanlights, some with radial
glazing, flanked by pilasters. Sashes with glazing bars. Decorative iron
balconies to most 1st floor windows. Flat gauged brick arches to upper windows
except Nos 23, 36 and 37 which have stucco architraves. No 28 has an added
parapet and dormer windows. Basement railings with arrow heads ramped up to
flank steps to entrances.
