Detached town house. Probably c.1830-36; altered. Red brick in
Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and slate roof.
Double-depth double-fronted plan. Two storeys over basement,
with attic; a 3-window symmetrical facade with plain frieze
and moulded cornice; central doorway with Ionic doorcase,
panelled door and overlight with glazing bars; and 12-pane
sashed windows with raised sills and wedge lintels. Two tall
chimney stacks on the front slope. Rear and INTERIOR not
inspected. History: first house built on West Cliff.
