House, now Catholic residential home. 1845-7. Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. Garden front, 1866, Edward Welby Pugin. Stone, roof of hexagonal slates, 2 storeys with attic, 7 bays. End bays project under gables with end stacks. Irregular fenestration, 4-light stair window to 2nd bay with king mullion and transom and traceried heads. 2nd bay narrow lights. 3rd bay cross window, with 3-light window over. 4th bay has cross window. 5th bay narrow windows. 2 gabled roof dormers and gabled dormer. Windows mostly have small-paned casements, stair window has stained glass. Porch to left of stair window has pointed entrance and shield in gable. Garden front of 7 bays, end bays project under gables, central bay window irregularly placed. Ground floor has cross windows to left of entrance, those to right have mullions, transoms and pointed heads to lights, all with label moulds; 1st bay has cross windows with buttress, between supporting canted oriel flanked by shields and ornamented panels, one dated. End bay has 2-storey canted bay with hipped slate roof; 1;3;1-light windows with pointed heads. 2 and 3-light central bay 1st floor windows. 1st bay has 2-light pointed attic window and 2-light attic window to end bay; 3 roof dormers between. 3 cross-axial clustered stacks and end stack. Entrance hall has encaustic tiles with heraldic crest and initials "HS". Stair and gallery with curved balusters 2 rooms facing garden have chamfered beams, one retains stencilling; 2 stone fireplaces. C20 extensions.
