Guide post. Dated 1743. Rectangular stone post, with inscriptions on each of the four faces. West face reads: 'Middleton Road'. North face reads: 'Dronfield Road'. East face reads: 'Chesterfield Road'. South face reads: 'Bakewell Road 1743'. One of a number of stone guide posts on the moorland fringe to the west of Chesterfield and the south-west of Sheffield.
