Two houses, now shops. c1750. Brick; tile roof. Georgian
style. 2 storeys with attic; 6-window range. Top brick frieze
and modillioned timber cornice; coped gables. C20 shop fronts
flank probably C20 entrance with doorcase and overlight to
6-panel door. 1st floor windows have rubbed brick flat arches
over 12-pane sashes, but first 2 windows have 6/9-pane
casements; 3 flat-roofed dormers, 2 with 6-pane sashes. Plaque
records birth here of Bishop Newton of Bristol, 1704-82. Rear
has 3 gabled wings. INTERIOR: much altered, but roof retains
original trusses, with curved principals to rear wings.
