Inn. C17, altered and extended early C19, sundial dated 1837. Regular coursed
ironstone and some brick. Corrugated iron and slate roofs; 2 stone stacks partly
rebuilt in brick, and one brick stack. 3-unit plan, extended to L-plan. 2
storeys; 3-window range. 5-panelled door in second bay, with painted sundial
above. Ground floor has windows with mutilated hood moulds, on right with a wood
lintel inserted below. First floor has 2 painted stone 3-light mullioned windows
with hood moulds. All other windows are casements, on ground floor with glazing
bars. Small casement inserted above sundial. Lower one-window range with slate
roof on left. To rear: Long irregular wing has stone ground floor and brick
first floor, with slate roof. C20 fenestration. Interior; Stepped stop chamfered
ceiling beam. Open fireplace with stepped stop-chamfered bressumer. Large
wrought iron inn sign bracket.
