House, formerly farmhouse. C16 core with early C17 4 bay wing altered and extended C1962.
Timber framed, square panels with tension bracing and tiled roof. Earliest part originally
was close-studded and had a jetty and these disappeared during the restoration. C16 part to
right is of 1 bay and 2 storeys and attics, C17 wing of 4 bays and an added C20 bay and 1
storey and attics. Massive clustered brick stack in angle between 2 ranges. 3 mainly modern
gabled dormers with iron-framed diamond - paned modern casements and 3 iron framed modern
diamond paned casements to ground floor. Penticed tiled weather porch with 4 plank door.
Modern iron framed casements to C16 part. Further 1 storey mid C20 brick and tiled extension
to extrance right, not of special interest, and garage extensions to left of brick with tiled
roof, not of special interest. Interior contains 2 early C17 brick cambered fire-
places with massive bressumers and ceiling in right hand bay of wing retaining some Lamb's
tongue joists. Several old 2 or 4 plank doors. Roof of queen post construction with through
purlins and some windbraces in early C17 wing.
