3/32 The Old Rectory

Rectory, now house. Dated 1703 with early and late C19 additions. Regular
coursed lias and brick with slate roof. Originally 3-unit plan now L-shape. 2
storeys with attic. Main front of 2-window range at first floor of 3-light stone
mullion windows and 3-window range at ground floor with a leaded casement, stone
mullion window and tripartite sash with ashlar surround. Ashlar gable parapets
and kneelers and C19 brick stacks at ridge and ends. Painted sundial to left of
main front has date 1703. Gables to left and right have 2- and 3-light stone
mullion windows. Rear elevation has early C19 brick lean-to extension to main
house with gabled staircase projection. Sash window has gauged brick head. One
3-light stone mullion window to far right has arch-head lights. Wing attached at
right angles to left, forms garden front and is late C19 in C17 style. Interior
not inspected.
