C15 and later. Two storeys. Flint and red brick with some tile-hanging and some
weatherboarding. Irregular plan. On the right a long wing with half-hipped old tile
roof, 2 casement windows and doorway with small wooden gabled porch to extreme right.
There is a modern 2 storey bay projection on right-hand return front. At the centre
a projecting gabled wing with tall stack on the outside wall. First floor is tile-
hung with one modern projecting bay window with leaded casements and 2 small windows
on ground floor. The interior is remarkable for its early features which indicate that
it is a largely intact hall house with major C17 alterations. The C15 timbering is
essentially complete. Elaborately moulded beam and wall-plates, roof truss and
crown-post. Inserted first floor and large brick chimney with early C17 oven. Also
extensive timber-framing in wing at left end.
