Garden Walls, Terraces and Pergola to rear of Crooksbury House

Garden walls, terraces and pergola. 1890-1900 by G. Jekyll. Red brick walls, red
brick tiles on pergola with timber roofing and stone slab steps and paving.
Rectangular upper terrace with brick retaining walls and a flight of brick steps to
left leading to parallel, stone flagged, lower terrace; which in turn leads to a
parallel, rectangular pergola. Pergola of thin brick tiles-on-edge,with stone
coped plinth walls and base and stone paving. Eight square piers with wooden
timbers laid across the top in crossed fashion. The garden is noted as Historic by
the Garden History Soc.
