Kiplin Hall

2 pairs of gatepiers, gates, railings and end piers. c1880 by W E Nesfield.
Ashlar and red brick. Wrought-iron gates. Main gatepiers flanked by
railings with end-piers those to right continuing at right-angles until
meeting second gateway close to house. Main gatepiers of vermiculated,
rusticated stone with brick banding on plinths and with coats of arms with
finials and scrolled pediments rising into frieze. Cornices. Double-gates
have side panels, plain lock rail and dog bars with scroll and floral motifs
and finials. To either side a low brick wall with ashlar coping supports
railings with arrow-headed dog bars and finialled standards. End piers
rusticated with brick bands, friezes, cornices and ball finials. Gatepiers
close to the house are similar.
