Probably an C18 building in origin, much altered and added to. The main
block is of red brick with Welsh slated roof. 2 smaller 2 storeyed wings
on road front, one with a half-hipped gable, dome chequer brickwork, roofs
of tiles and Welsh slates. On a plaque on the building is recorded: Sir
Henry Bessemer FRS Inventor and Engineer was born here 1813".
