House. Late C17-C18 and C20. Timber-framed and weatherboarded
with peg-tiled mansard roof. One and a half storeys. 3 window
range, one C20 casement, one sash and one sash converted to
top hung casement, all with glazing bars and 3x3 panes, sashes
without horns. Both sash windows originally had lower moving
frame of double pane depth and upper fixed frame of single
pane depth. C20 door to W glazed with glazing bars, 2x3 panes.
2 dormers with deep peg-tiled hips and C20 casement windows.
Central stack, red weatherboarding suggest site of door when
property consisted of two cottages.
INTERIOR has exposed ceiling joists of rudimentary workmanship
with 2 possible stair traps to the front next to the stack.
Iron ties inserted to prevent further bowing of front wall
caused by removal of tie-beams to give better access when the
3-celled building was divided into two cottages. Rear C20
brick extension with flat felted roof and wooden casement
windows. Central door, fully glazed, and C20 casement window
at W end of rear of old block.
