14/07/72 Precinct walls to NW of Abbey Church

churchyard of St Mary's Church)

GV II

Precinct walls. C16 origins but now almost completely late C18
with C19 repairs. Brick and flint laid in courses below coping
bricks. Brick strip buttresses to inside (towards church)
repeated on outside as flush flint piers. This length of wall
runs west out of Sunday School, returning south along
Becketswell Road to main gates opposite north porch of church.
Gates by Boulton & Paul of Norwich: C19, wrought-iron.
