House of 1793 with office attached to north (No.14) in 1880.
Red brick with gault brick facade. Roof of black glazed
pantiles. No.16 of 2 storeys and dormer attic in 3 bays.
Panelled door under a 5-vaned fanlight within a 4-centred
arch. Fenestration of sashes, replaced in 1880, with glazing
bars and gauged skewback arches. Panelled parapet. Hipped roof
with 2 flat-topped dormers and 2 stacks. South return wall
blank except for a tall rounded recessed niche. Rear has a
basement storey owing to fall in ground. 3 bays, that to north
in form of 2-storey bow window fitted with curved sashes with
glazing bars. Glazed door to south within panelled arched
doorcase. One sash to its left and 2 to first floor. Plain
parapet and one flat-topped dormer. Central ridge stack. No.14
of 2 storeys in 3 bays. Sash windows with glazing bars and
gauged skewback arches. Hipped roof.
INTERIOR. 4-centred arch with panelled soffit leads to
staircase hall. Stick baluster staircase with ramped and
wreathed handrail. Ground floor south room with fireplace
consisting of fluted engaged columns supporting a fluted
frieze. First floor rear room with a coved ceiling and
gasolier. No.14 with a cast-iron spiral staircase of 1880.
