House. Dated 1827. Brown brick with slate roof. 2 storeys in 4
bays. Segmental-arched carriage entrance to left leads into
Aickman's Yard which formerly contained John Aickman's
Foundry. Over archway a cast-iron plaque reads: John Aickman's
Foundry, MDCCCXXVII. 3 sash windows to right of archway with
glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. 4 similar windows
above. Plain parapet hides roof. Gable-end stacks. House is
entered through a panelled door in the north side of the
passageway: round-arched doorcase and decorative fanlight. Top
two panels of door are now glazed.
