TL 5416/5516 HATFIELD BROAD OAK BROAD STREET GREEN
(south east side)

6/39 Little Tudors

GV II

House. Late C16 and possibly earlier. Timber framed and plastered. Of 2 low
storeys with thatched roof, hipped on south east end and gabled on the north
west. Small ridge line stacks and larger stack on ends. Front has off-centre
C20 gabled peg tile roofed porch on high brick plinth. Windows are C20 timber
casements with diamond leaded lights. Complex structure with heavy unjowled
posts and straight internal wall bracing at south west end. Remnants of crown
post roof with soot blackening, cambered tie beams with curved bracing in
centre. Probable small former open hall with ancillary single aisled
outbuilding at end.
