House and shop. The remaining half of a good C18 stone house. 3-storeyed
ashlar with a corbelled cornice and a Welsh slate roof in which are 2 modern
hipped attic dormers. The North half of the front breaks forward. There
is a modern shop front in the ground floor. In the lst floor is a recessed
Venetian window with a semi-circular relieving arch over it. To the North
of this window is an angle pilaster and to the South of it a moulded impost;
to the South of this a tall sash window. In the 2nd floor are 2 sash windows.
The original house must have had a good appearance and what remains after
its alteration is still of value. History. A drawing by J C Buckler (in
Bodleian MS. Don. A 31, 33) made in 1821 shews part of this house.
