Sundial to front of The Dower House

Sundial. Mid C18, probably contemporary with the Dower House (q.v.). Ashlar.
Square base, carved console to each side, frieze decorated with egg-and-dart
ornament, notched corners. The top has circular recess for dial plate (gone).
Perhaps inspired by Batty Langley's City and Country Builder's and Workman's
Treasury of Designs, 1739.
