Medium-sized country house. C18, front range c1790, restored and remodelled
1960. Stuccoed brick, slate roof. 2 storey on basement, 11 x 2 bay main range
of 1790, behind 8 x 4 bay earlier building and at one end of main block replacing
earlier service building, mid C20 single storey service range. Entrance front
has to central 5 bays full-sized Ionic portico with modillioned architrave to
pediment and semicircular window in middle, all very flat. Behind porticos in
full-height recess containing stone doorcase with double doors and sashes either
side and above. 3 bays each side have sashes and cornice to panelled parapet.
On RH end full-height canted bay with sashes on each face. Hipped roof hidden by
parapet. At LH end service range has door in bay beside main block and 2 sashes.
Prior to 1960 there was a columned belvedere in centre, parapet stacks on front
elevation so some window openings were blind and glazing-bars to the sashes.
