4/39 The Old Rectory
II
House. C18, with early C19 alterations. Brick, rendering, with a tile
roof. 2-storeyed square block, with extensions on the west side. Symmetrical
south elevation of 5 windows; red brick walling in Flemish bond, eaves
fascia of stepped brickwork, rubbed flat arches. Sashes, With shutters,
central ½-glazed door. The east elevation has 4 windows, rendered walling,
sashes and shutters. An early C20 glazed porch encloses the original doorway,
which is an arched opening with architrave surround, radiating fanlight, and
½-glazed door. The north elevation, of 3.2 windows, is also rendered, with
sashes in exposed frames, and a wide porch containing a narrow arched entrance.
Within, the original staircase remains.
