New Bridge over River Windrush

II

Bridge over River Windrush on boundary of parishes of Clapton-on-the Hill, Sherborne and Great Rissington. Probably built circa 1806. Coursed squared and dressed limestone. Bridge parapet curves forward either side of single four-centred arched span with moulded hood. Triangular buttresses on bridge abutment with weathered copings. Bridge parapet terminates in square piers with stepped pyramidal capping. Saddleback coping to parapet.

Bridge very similar in style to bridge south-west of Bourton-on-the-Water on boundary of the civil parishes of Cold Aston, Bourton-on-the-Water and Lower Slaughter.
