Former Blacksmith's cottage and forge. Late C16 core, with C19 rebuilding,
extension and with C20 renovation. Rubble-stone and rendered walls, painted.
Rebuilt brick stacks at main gable ends. Slate roofs, hipped at left hand
and gabled at right hand. Two storeys. 3 windows, 3-light wood casements
with horizontal glazing-bars. Former forge at left hand end, two openings
with segmental arches over. Porch to cottage, at centre, rendered and
painted with pitched slate roof, plank door with one glass light, C20 in
traditional form. Interior: fireplace in south end of original cottage has
a relict bressumer and mortices for a timber firehood. Remnant of wattle-and-
daub fill. Remains of firehood visible at first floor level. Two cruck-trusses.
Heavy (4 in) chamfered ceiling-beam across Hall running north-south.
