Chest tomb; 1772; stone; flat lid with moulded edge, upper part
of moulding gadrooning. Sides raised central rectangle, scalloped
corners, bead and reel and leaf moulding to edge, rococo carving in
corners. Ends elongated pilasters, edges carved poppies, main
stem at west end hourglass surrounded serpent of eternity, wings, 2
heads, skull, bones, all over a scroll. East end raised panel with
scalloped corners on stem. Inscription weathered, year noted
legible.
