SO 71 NE CHURCHAM BULLEY

11/11 Hooper monument and headstone,
in churchyard, about 4m south of
porch, Church of St. Michael

GV II

Chest tomb and headstone. Chest tomb, J. Hooper, 1807: stone.
Flat top, moulded edge, corners indented slightly on long faces.
Sides a raised oval with paterae in spandrels: ends Roman Doric
pilaster. Further raised rectangular panel on shaft, flowers on
capital. Moulded plinth, inscription on end. To west, immediately
against chest a headstone to J. Hooper, died 1693, with shaped top,
skull set between 2 scrolls.
