13/18 Skiveralls House
II
Detached house. Late C17; upper floor added mid C18; early Cl9
additions. Random and coursed rubble and ashlar limestone;
roughcast render; ashlar chimneys; stone slate and concrete tile
roofs. Three-storey; parallel 3-storey rear range. Front:
scattered fenestration, mostly 2-light chamfered mullioned
casements, those to ground floor below continuous hood. Off-centre
flat-roofed stone porch with sculpted stone coat-of-arms.
Additional upper floor is rendered with three 3-light casements.
Moulded eaves. Gable end chimneys. Rear: line of earlier gable
visible and blocked windows. Outshut to parallel range,
fenestration to east gable end altered except for 2-light upper
floor leaded casement. Interior not inspected. Probably enlarged
to accommodate additional hand looms.
