Early C16. Front refaced C19. Three storeys, stucco; C19 sashes, those on the
left side on the correct levels, those in centre dropped, right with only one small
window. Band and parapet. C19 shop on left ground floor. Rear of sandstone with
gable. Two sashes on first floor, one above. Plain openings below. Flank wall
revealed on left by demolition of adjacent property shows arched doorway, blocked,
on first floor, and a blocked opening adjoining it with cambered oak head. Parapet,
cemented, with band. Roof not visible from the street. Interior has remarkable
original timbered ceiling on ground floor, four bays by three, the bays divided
by very heavy moulded beams into squares, the joints in the squares being very
deeply moulded and chamfered, each panel of joists arranged to be at right angles
with those in the adjoining panels. On the ground floor in the rear elevation
are the remains of a large stone window and another. Formerly part of Larksbeare
House.
