The descriptive notes shall be amended to read:

House, c 1540 and earlier. Ground floor of brick, partly rendered with timber framed and rendered/pebble dash first floor. Roofs are gabled and of peg titles. Of two storeys and 'T' plan form, comprising a 'hall' and crosswing. The 'front' elevation is in fact the north flank of the crosswing, and is symmetrical with three small pane double hung sash windows over canted, double hung sash bays and a central early C19th door surround. This has a heavy 'Grecian' cornice, a rectangular fanlight with a cross of glazing bars and the original six-panel door. A substantial Cl7 red brick stack against the east wall of the cross wing has been rebuilt towards the top. The ground floor of the hall range has thick brick walls in English bond, and an original moulded timber front door surround. The rear of the block has an original hall window with timber moulded mullions and transoms and 24 plain glazed lights. The upper lights still retain their central iron diamond bars. Towards the cross wing there is a similar window of 8 lights and the remains of the former rear door. All openings on this side have original moulded brick drip mouldings and the junction with the timber framed first floor bridged by a moulded brick coping.

Internally the eastern half of the cross wing is found to be of late medieval date and the service cross wing of an earlier house on the site. The 2 storey hall range is of traditional disposition with a former cross passage against the surviving wing. One elaborately moulded service door opening survives with double stepped stops. At the 'high' end is a similar doorcase formerly leading to a 'parlour' of a long demolished southern cross wing. The first floor is divided into two chambers, one against the cross wing probably containing the original stairs. A narrower moulded door surround in the south wall presumably led to a former solar. The timber framing of the upper floor is of high quality with a pegged mid wall rail and thick arch bracing. The floor. between hall and upper chamber is original and has excessively deep narrow floor joists with central tenons and diminished haunches above and below. The original roof, of which only one truss survives,has side purlins,queen posts and concave profile windbracing. The attic floor is also original with a simplified form of the same floor joist joints. A Cl7 iron casement window on the first floor east side has cockspur fittings and a stained glass crest of the Rivers family.

House. Cl6 or earlier, the remains of a much larger house (20+ rooms said to be demolished C18/C19). Timber framed and plastered, the lower part bricked- up, probably Cl9. Red plain tiled roof. 2 storeys and attics. T-shaped. West side of south wing with original 8 light windows with transomes, moulded framed and mullions. Frontage of 3 window range C18/19 vertical sliding sashes. Ground floor with 2 hipped bay windows. Central band. Original 6-panel door with light over in moulded surround with moulded flat box canopy. Original stained glass coat of arms. Said to have original panelling, doors and other features internally. Red brick chimney stacks to left and right. RCHM 2.
