Description

SO 49 NE CARDINGTON C.P. WILLSTONE

4/49 Outbuilding approx.
- 5 metres to north-
west of Lower Farmhouse

GV II

Outbuilding. Probably early C18. Roughly squared and coursed yellow/grey
sandstone incorporating some timber framing with plastered infill
panels; plain tile roof. 2 storeys. Parapeted gable end to south
with integral stone and brick end stack. East front: external stone
steps up to central boarded loft door; lean-to to right with boarded
opening (lean-to plain tile roof dismantled apart from that over end
walls and replaced with lower corrugated iron roof). Exposed timber
framing in right-hand gable end (facing road). Interior not inspected.
It is possible that this was formerly a brew house. It forms part
of an early C18 farmstead group including a farmhouse (q.v.) and barn
(q.v.).
