Large house, now health resort. C18, much altered first half C19.
Extended later C19 and c.1900. Stuccoed brick. Slate roof. 2 storeys,
basement and attic. 7 bays. Central entrance in projecting porch addition
of c.1900: banded rustication, pulvinated frieze, modillioned cornice and
parapet. Flanking 3 central bays are giant pilasters. First floor: keyed
arch to central Venetian window. Flanking glazing bar sashes with
bracketed floating cornices, ground floor left has similar windows and 2
basement windows. Modillioned cornice, parapet, scrolled panel to
centre. Mansard roof. Ground floor right has link from porch across
front to c.1900 ballroom extension projecting forward from right end.
Extension bowed to front. Right return has tripartite sash and keyed
oculus. To left: late C19 extension of 1 bay and link set back slightly.
Rear: full height canted bay to centre rising to semi-octagonal mansard.
Ground floor right, iron verandah. Plat bands separate storeys to left
and centre. Rectangular bay projects to right on late C19 extension.
Interior: features largely C19.
