Arthur Blomfield. Coursed ironstone rubble with ashlar quoins,
decorative tile hanging to first floor of cottages, plain tiled
roofs with wooden bargeboards, conical roof to dairy with
octagonal louvred top, surmounted by swept lead roof, supported
on free-standing posts. Central ashlar stack to cottages.
Octagonal dairy is attached to semi-detached cottages by single
storey link block. 2 storey, 2 bay cottages, the first floor
corbelled out on carved wooden brackets. 2 canted bay windows
with plain casements, to first floor 3 light glazing bar
casements to first floor. The dairy roof oversails the stone
walls to provide a covered walkway around it. Single 3 light
glazing bar casement and wide opening to one side. Sir Arthur
Blomfield designed the now demolished Denton Hall in Denton Park
for the Welby family.
