House
GV II
Former barn, late C17, now used for domestic purposes. Whitened
brickwork and brick nogged timber frame with slate roof. Single
storey with later added floor over part of area. 5 bays, 14-panels in
small framing with angle braces. The entrance side (south-west) is of
brickwork with a small timber framed outshut at the north-west end.
There are four 1-to-2-light flush casements and two framed and
battened doors.
Interior: One truss with queen posts to high collar and raking struts
above. A second truss has raking struts from the tie beam and no
collar. The trusses are bracketed to wall posts. Old purlins, wind
braces and ridge tree. The present upper floor in the building was
recently added but there was an earlier loft floor in the queen post
truss area.
