Terrace of house, a cottage and a pair of cottages with later inserted shop to the
right hand one. Circa late C18-early C19. Dressed coursed, almost ashlar, granite
front with dressed granite sills and lintels, otherwise painted rubble. Grouted and
slurried scantle slate roof sweeping slightly lower over integral rear outshuts.
Brick chimneys over gable ends and cross party walls, the left hand chimneys
rendered.
Double depth plan with shallower rear service rooms in integral outshut. The house,
left, has 2 front rooms with cross passage between leading to probably central stair
between the service rooms. The single cottage has 1 front room and cross passage on
the right. The pair of cottages,now 1 house with former shop, originally had 1 room
to the front of each with cross passages towards the middle. The front room of the
right hand cottage was converted to a shop in circa the late C19 by removing most of
the ground floor wall to inserted a double shop front and at the same time the first
floor window was widened. Old weather-boarded slate-roofed lean-to at the left hand
end.
2 storeys. Overall regular 5 window range : nearly symmetrical 2 window front of
house, left, with doorway slightly right of middle with original 6 panel door; 1
window front of cottage with doorway with C20 door on the right hand side; and 2
window front of the former pair of cottages with 1 original doorway left of middle
with original 6-panel door. All the windows are circa late C19 6-pane horned sashes
in original openings except for the right hand former cottage which has double shop
fronts each side of the shop front a projecting bay window with 16-pane horned sash
and sidelights, original moulded fascia, blocked central doorway and C20 window over.
