11.4.67

G.V. II

House and adjoining stable/barn. Late C18, stable/barn incorporating C17 house
with late C18 alterations. Incised stucco over sandstone rubble. Graduated
greenslate roof with painted stone chimney stack. Stable/barn has whitewashed
rubble walls under corrugated asbestos roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays with lower
2-storey, single-bay extension to right; right-angled stable/barn adjoins to
rear right, forming overall L-shape. Top-glazed panelled door in panelled
reveal with eared architrave under pediment. Sash windows with glazing bars in
painted stone architraves. Similar double sash windows in extension. End wall
right has plank doors and loft doors, one reached by external stone steps.
Stable/barn extends to right under common roof. Plank doors and loft doors and
small chamfered-surround openings. Adjoining outbuildings are not of interest
but contain a reused lintel 1678 R.H. D.H. which probably came from the original
