House, formerly vicarage. Probably C17 core, range of circa 1730, early C19 range,
addition of 1913, late C20 addition. Some internal cob, slatestone rubble, partly
slate-hung circa 1730 range, 1 room deep with early C19 range at rear east forming
L-plan around earlier core. 1913 range attached at west gable end forming U-plan.
Arms of U joined by late C20 addition forming rectangular plan. South facing range
2 storey, 3 windows: window upper storey right blocked. Stucco ground floor,
slate-hung above, central open wooden porch with pyramidal slate roof, probably
1913. 3-light ground floor window left renewed with glazing bars, ground floor
window right and upper floor windows 12-pane sashes in slate-hung reveals. Early
C19 range has symmetrical 2-storey. 3-window east elevation in rubble slatestone
with 12-pane sash windows in shallow reveals under brick arches. Central entrance
under brick arch now blocked, hipped roof at north end. 1913 range rendered with
slate hipped roof and taller than other ranges by half a storey. Interior much
altered: some cob walls and early C19 panelling. Vicarage described as "new built"
in 1734. John Wesley stayed here on several occasions. R Parnall, Wreckers and
