Farmhouse: dated 1629 but some years earlier, with C19 and C20 alterations. Coursed, squared, buff, sandstone rubble. Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge and 2 stone chimneys. 2-storey, 3-bay front. Left end bay obscured by lean-to in same materials. Central bay has rebated ovolo-moulded 2-light window (mullion missing) with horned 4-pane sash above. 4-panelled door at right under chamfered wooden lintel. Above is copper plaque in moulded stone surround reading.

THIS HOUSE AND LANDE WAS GIVEN BY THOMAS OVEFE TO THE POORE OF THESE TOWNSHIPS FEARNLEE, TAXALL, KETTLESHULME, DISLEY, PRESTBURY, MACCLESFEELDE FOR EVER Wch. THOMAS DYED THE 16th OF JULY IN THE YEARE OF OVR LORD 1629.

Eaves have projecting stones supporting remains of wooden guttering. Rear has rebated 2-light mullioned window (mullion missing) and left gable has a 2-light and 3-light (one mullion surviving), both rebated. Interior: 2 rooms and lobby inside. Main room has ovolo-moulded beam and ovolo-moulded lintels to rear of windows. Mid C19 heavy fire surround and iron range in original chimney breast which also contains a square wooden spice cupboard in dentilated surround.
